About Us

Our Story

Jennifer, the owner, is a master’s level licensed graduate social worker who has had a passion for animals since early childhood and always lived with dogs. At the age of 50, she left her full time geriatric social job to start this busness. Through Run and Play, she has been able to utilitze her social work skills to find committed and motivaed walkers to best support her clients and is able to communicate efficiently and effectively around her client’s needs. She has created a strong and committed team that is available to support most client needs.

Through social work, she discovered the powerful influence pets could have on the elderly and the lack of access to animals for the elderly in local nursery homes. As Jennifer continues to build her business, she hopes to find appropriate dogs to continue her work within these two groups, exercise her passion for animals and satisfy her desire for helping others.  She will be keeping an eye out for dogs that would make great therapy dogs and may approach you on how your pooch can help.
